BTEC Teacher Training Courses

1. NQF BTEC Level 3 Sport - It is all change for BTEC Level 3-a complete new set of specifications including two different types of external assessment. Are you ready for it?

The changes in recent years to BTECs have been significant and their impact has been even more so. If you are now delivering the NQF Level 3 BTEC Sport specifications make sure you are fully prepared for what lies ahead. It is key that timetabling and programme design are spot on especially as there are now new pathways with direct vocational links. It requires good tactics to get the best out of learners-if you deliver the wrong unit at the wrong time it can minimise achievement. Effective preparation for the exam based and task based external tests is crucial including not just the content but the working practices of pre-release materials and what sorts of support you can give to your learners over the external assessment period. We offer you a punchy, lively course that tells you what you can and cannot do, what has and hasn’t worked in the first year of delivery and then most importantly solutions to ensure your learners achieve the best grades possible – make sure you are ready for it!

Essential training for staff involved in the management and delivery of the NQF Level 3 BTEC Sport qualification – including experienced teachers/lecturers, Quality Nominees and Senior Leadership Team. This course is also suitable for those that are new to BTEC!

Make sure you are up to date with these opportunities to support attainment for your learners!

The course will include;

1. The BTEC ethos – the key points
2. The new specifications including their different pathways, structure and content
3. Requirements of internal assessment including programme design so which units to deliver, when and how. What you can and cannot do!
4. Requirements of the external assessment, when to enter learners and how to effectively prepare them for the best grades in their first sitting, including support available for delivering on the external assessments
5. Expected grade profiles and how to communicate this
6. Authenticity and protecting you, your learners and your school

Our knowledgeable training team are committed to giving you the best possible preparation using their extensive management and delivery experience to help you navigate the challenges ahead.

* We reserve the right to convert this course to a virtual classroom course should numbers not be sufficient. The Virtual Classroom (VC) is a great alternative to face to face training – convenient and time saving. We email you the web link; you click on it and enter the training room. The VC is live and fully interactive just the same as face to face; you can see the trainer and talk to the trainer and each other, you can see the presentation and training resources on your screen. It is very simple and very effective! If you are unsure, contact us and we can show you how easy it is. You can use the VC from any location providing you have a computer connected to the internet and either speakers or a headset to listen in to the session and a microphone to ask questions and have your input (although this is optional) – so you can take part at home, school or any other location of your choice.
